Well, our annual Turkey Supper is a wrap for another year. Some 400 happy people enjoyed a feast of turkey with all the trimmings – mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, carrots, turnips, coleslaw, and more, all lovingly prepared by the members of St. Andrew’s. Then, for those who saved some room, there was a delicious selection of home made pies. Complimentary tea, coffee, and juice. And as always, we all enjoyed some good conversations and chats with old friends, and new ones.
Entertainment was provided for those waiting to eat, and those who just wanted to sit and relax before heading home. Starting with our in-house groups SAUCIE (instrumental wind ensemble – flutes, clarinets, trombone), followed by 4Good (guitars and vocals), Yaldi (celtic – guitar, flute, violin, vocals), and then Martin Russell (pictured) who finished off the evening with his classical guitar stylings. We are so fortunate to have all this talent provide their time and music for our enjoyment.
So many thanks go out to all the volunteers who helped make this event a success, especially the Owens family, and to the many members of St. Andrew’s who organized, decorated, cooked, served, washed, cleaned up, and to our community friends including the Girl Guides – those leaders and girls did a great job!
