What a great way to spend some time!
Our annual church picnic was held Sunday, June 14. The Service started at 11 am followed by a wonderful picnic lunch, and a music jam session, horseshoes, and quiet walks, and lots of visiting with friends. Bill & Shari had put up a large event tent, so we were safe from wind and rain, which threatened a bit – but was not a big problem. They graciously provided meat, buns, juice, and coffee, and great hospitality, while the rest of us brought salads and desserts. The service was all about God’s invitation to join the banquet, with many of us helping out as wanna-be actors, and the singing just kept getting better as we’d sing “The Wedding Banquet” story, by verses and refrains, accompanied by Ray, Bob, and Shawn on their guitars. And then a few more musicians joined in for a sing-along after the meal, while the kids played some great games – like sack races, blowing bubbles, horseshoes, and tag.
Oh yeah! By the end of the picnic, we’d filled Ray’s truck with non-perishable items for Morley. Way to go! And many thanks to Bill & Shari Pusch and family for hosting us this day.
