Our St. Andrew’s Live Nativity and Cochrane Light Up on Saturday evening were both so enjoyable. Light Up organizers estimated up to 15,000 people in attendance. The Live Nativity was well attended, with cute donkeys, costumes for kids, great conversation, and hearty carol singing, with three campfires for warmth around the “stable”, all of which imparted a warm spirit of the season. St. Andrew’s also offered free hot chocolate and cookies, as well as restroom facilities and a place to warm up. And our east parking lot provided a superb view of the windup fireworks! Downtown had lots of activities, including a wide selection of free hotdogs, with quite the array of condiments, from good old mustard, relish, & Ketchup, to cotton candy (? – really), sugar sprinkles, non-peanut peanut butter, bacon bits, sauerkraut, jalapeños, banana peppers and more, plus hot chocolate. Give a big thank you shout out to all the volunteers who made this community event a success!
