The third concert of Legacy Guitar’s “Songs for a Winter’s Evening” series was held last Saturday evening at St. Andrew’s, featuring “The Travelling Mabels”.
The event opened with a Special Guest – Cochrane’s own Sydney Mae, and she was a real pleasure to hear.
Then The Travelling Mabels took the stage, and wow! It was great to spend the evening with them, listening to Eva/Ma Mabel, Sue/Baby Mabel, Lana/Purdy Mabel, and of course Keith, the Unstable Mable. Great music, harmonies, and lyrics, great stories and laughs. So much fun! And Jerry Lee Lewis would absolutely have loved Keith’s performance on the keyboard! Oh yeah – it was another packed house!
Much of the audience arrived early, grabbed their favourite seats, and then relaxed before the concert with dessert apple pie or cheese cake – just ask for a big dollop of fresh whipped cream – and a coffee/tea/juice/pop. Served up with a smile by our wonderful St. Andrew’s volunteers.
Many thanks to all the ticket holders, to Legacy, and to St. Andrew’s and its volunteers for supporting this wonderful series.
